The best meat at panda express is their delicious Walnut Shrimp. It's crispy, sweet, yet savory and comes with crunchy walnuts. It is one of their "premoum" meats which will cost you about $1.25 extra per serving.
But, if you have the extra cash these Shrimp will not disappoint. If you're not into Shrimp or Seafood here are some of the best meats you can get down in Panda Land.
For whatever reason, Sweetfire Chicken is'nt available nationwide. I found it in abundance in South Florida but could not locate it anywhere in North Carolina.
It's a real shame as this is the best chicken at Panda Express. Yes, even better than the world-famous Orange Chicken. The meat comes paired with onions, red peppers, and pineapples.
The sauce is sweet with a nice spicy kick to it that isn't so overbearing that a child wouldn&apo;nt enjoy it. A major drawback with this meat, however, is that the employees often scoop way more veggies than actual chicken.
I imagine this is done to save the restaurant money. So, hopefully, you don't go on your lunch break here when the employee of the month is on duty.
This is the chicken that made the Panda famous. In fact, it's so delicious I would continue to eat it even if I found out they made it out of real Pandas.
My only gripe is that as of late the sauce has gotten a little too spicy. This could just be the area I live in but it seems to be fairly consistent across the Southeast United States.
There is also a vegan variant but that tastes like cardboard so avoid it at all costs.
Back when I used to eat beef, this was my go-to meat whenever there was a fresh batch available. If this meat is not fresh out of the wok, closely examine it before piling it onto your plate.
When the beef sits inside its sauce for too long it becomes spongey and gross. But when fresh it's crunchy and slightly spicy. This is the only meat that tastes good over a bed of the fried rice.
The Chicken Teriyaki at Panda Express is wonderful and relatively healthy. Each serving provides around 36 grams of protein with a caloric value of 299. This equates to 108 grams of protein if you get a triple serving. Pair this with their brown rice (which honestly tastes and feels like fish bowl gravel) and you've got one healthy meal on your plate.
These are stats you typically only find in protein powder. For this reason, I sometimes grab a single serving as my pre-workout meal.
Chow Mein is my side of choice over fried rice and vegetables. Provided they don't overload it with cabbage and the other green items inside it.
If you can spare the calories, try it with Teriyaki sauce on top. This is the same sauce they use on the Chicken Teriyaki and it works just as well on noodles.
My wife buys these a lot and for good reason. When they're fresh, they taste great with sweet and sour sauce or plum sauce.
To enhance the flavor a bit them up slightly and throw a spoonful of Chow Mein inside.
These meats and sides are great on their own but when their powers combine, the ultimate meal will appear before your eyes.
The best combo at Panda Express consists of these 3 meats and 1 side.
If you don't like shrimp try this combo instead.
Once you have your plate in front of you, take a knife and cut the Honey Walnut Shrimp into little pieces. Next place your Orange Chicken on top of your Chow Mein.
The next layer will be the newly minced shrimp, followed by a light drizzling of plum sauce. Give this combination a try the next time you visit Panda Express and feel free to send me a thank you note on Twitter.
